We like to share some news with you on current exhibitions and exciting presentations that are coming up in September: during London Design Festival as well as a major solo exhibition opening in Kunsthalle Wien, coinciding with the start of Vienna Design Week.

• The Last London Salon
The London Salons of 2016-'17 are wrapped up with an exhibition, talks and a pamphlet.
The expo will contain work of Future Facility, Max Lamb, Opendesk, Piet Hein Eek, Martino Gamper, Pearson Lloyd, Nina Tolstrup, Marjan van Aubel and others.
Together with the talks and the pamphlet - made with Johanna Agerman Ross and designed by Irma Boom - 'The Last London Salon' offers insights, conclusions and recommendations for design.

• People of the Sun: Storage & Stools
People of the Sun from Malawi launches baskets, trays and furniture designed by Ineke Hans and shows design as a component for sustainable, cooperative businesses.

A solo exhibition in Kunsthalle Wien Karlsplatz from 28 Sept - 12 Nov 2017.
'Was ist Loos?' (What's going on?) shows recent and new work grouped around a number of topics that influence the position of design and the designer at the moment.
Except for being 'food for thought', the topics are also nutritional base for an active design attitude and the exhibition explicitly shows some responses too: a chair is developed for Kunsthalle Wien with Gebrüder Thonet Wien and a desk for Opendesk, platform for open source production.
A catalogue designed by Irma Boom will accompany the presentation with text contributions from Oliver Stratford - Editor-in-Chief of Disegno Magazine, Deyan Sudjic - Director of Design Museum London and Bart Lootsma - Professor for Architectural Theory Innsbruck who was head of the 3D design department when Ineke studied in Arnhem.
The opening of the exhibition coincides with the start of Vienna Design Week and has several side events.
